About:
Greetings! I’m Alexis Silverman (she/her), and I’m a psychotherapist-in-training looking for new clients. As well, I’m a registered practitioner of Matrix Reimprinting, I’m also a registered nurse who has spent over 20 years supporting emergency service workers with trauma. I currently work part-time as a registered nurse on an in-patient psychiatry unit at a Toronto hospital.
How I can help:
My practice is based on the principle that everyone needs a calm, safe, non-judgmental, and anti-oppressive space to find and express their authentic selves. I like to meet individuals with curiosity, kindness, humour, empathy and compassion, and my practice is a place for adolescents and adults of all ages to find respite, resilience and relief from any of life's problems, no matter how messy.
Specialist areas:
Both big and small-T traumas. Family of origin issues, including childhood emotional abuse and neglect. Life transitions, such as birth, adoption, relationship issues, school and career problems, divorce and grief.
Other expertise:
I've spent over 20 years supporting emergency service workers with trauma, so I feel particularly comfortable with firefighters and paramedics.
